Gary Kolander, owner of Bay Area Gun Vault, has always been passionate about guns, gun culture and shooting sports. With this passion and breadth of knowledge about guns, Gary has provided a gun shop that is inviting for the avid gun collector and does not intimidate the new hobbyist. An avid gun historian and collector, Gary’s gun collection consists of over 400 pistols and rifles and makes up the core of the initial Bay Area Gun Vault inventory. His gun shop is made up of a team of experts in helping people of all skill levels find the right firearm suitable to their needs.
A Proud SIG Master Dealer
Bay Area Gun Vault is a Master Dealer for SIG, which stands for “Schweizerische Industrie Gesellschaft,” German for “Swiss Industrial Company.” The Swiss company has a long-standing reputation in the gun industry when it entered a competition to develop a state-of-the-art rifle in 1860. They have later partnered with the German firm of Sauer & Sohn, and the SIG SAUER line of handguns began in the 1970s. In 1985, SIGARMS was created as the American branch of SIG, and its European sister companies, Sauer & Sohn, Blaser, Mauser and Swiss Arms were bought by Michael Lüke and Thomas Ortmeier in October 2000. Today, SIG Sauer is the largest of the five companies and one of the largest firearms manufacturing entities in the world.
